Personal Information

In Short

Set on a private island with views over the Komodo National Park, Angel Island resort is one of the few truly eco resorts in Indonesia, built on ecological principles. No trees were cut down during its construction and they plant as many new saplings as possible, to encourage the local flora and fauna. They have secured a local government license to protect the reefs and beaches of Angel Island, to stop destructive fishing practices, reef gleaning, capturing of local wild birds including the Pacific black duck which migrates here to breed and taking of white sand from beaches. And they work to enhance the local community by using local produce and using local work force for any continued building work and employing only staff from the local areas and enable staff working in Bali in the Tourism industry to return back to their homes here in Flores to be closer to their families.

Angel Island Resort Description

They have ten spacious villas set in a garden of endemic trees and hibiscus flowers, all within one minute walk from the ocean. Each villa has remotely controlled A/C, King sized Double bed or Twin Single 120cm beds, Malongo Pod system Espresso Machine, a mini bar with snacks and drinks, personal mini safe for your valuables, water dispenser with hot and cold water for Tea/coffee anytime and TV/ Dvd player plus media player for flash drives. Each room has a private terrace with sun-loungers and coffee table.

The bathroom has hot and cold water, and twin sinks.

The resort also offers, a laundry service, room service and a turn down service.

The restaurant offers a wide range of Indonesian, European and Vegetarian dishes, and serves delicious fresh fruit juices and has a small selection of wines, spirits and cocktails. They do serve fresh line caught fish, but due to the destructive fishing practices used catching shell fish, octopus, squid and cuttlefish, these are not served in their restaurant.

The diving is handled by their sister company Reefseekers in Labuan Bajo who come to the island and pick you up to take you diving to the best spots in the Komodo National Park. Their boats offer plenty of shade and typically do two to three dives a day, lunch is included on the boat. Boats are equipped with Radio, Oxygen, hand phone and First aid and comfy mattresses. The DM gives an informative talk about the local Marine life on the journey out to the dive site, a different topic every day you dive.
