About Bira Dive Camp

We believe that when you start to learn how to dive you need quantity of dives to really feel comfortable in the water. Therefor we have chosen to include 3 dives/day and you can choose to stay at the camp 1 or 2 weeks, which basically means that you’ll get between 18-36 dives staying with us at Bira Dive Camp.

They also run dive course from Open Water to Dive Master.

If you fancy a change from diving while you are here then there is plenty to keep you occupied, they have a small outrigger canoe you can go fishing in and catch your own dinner, we have a couple of stand up paddle boards, beach volleyball.

In evenings there is a projector where you can watch documentaries and plenty of movies and TV Shows. Even your photos and videos from the day can go on the big screen.

Whenever possible we try to have a Yoga Instructor on at the camp so you can enjoy Beach Yoga on our beautiful sandy beach.

Diving in Bira is good from March to December, and all year there are plenty of sharks, the bigger fish are more likely to be seen in June to September when the water temperature is a little colder, around 24C, and they can be bigger waves around these months but they still dive every day, they are just a bit more flexible on the sites depending on the weather conditions.

June to September is good for Sharks of all types, a couple of the sites there will be a good chance of exciting opportunities for things like, Hammerheads, Threshers, Bull Sharks, Lots of White Tips, Blacktips, Marble Rays, Eagle Rays, Baracudas and Tunas. they make no guarantees!

Bira has a good range of restaurants offering Indonesian and European food, expect some great BBQ fish with traditional sambals.

For your non diving time there is plenty to do, visit Tanah Beru, where they build the traditional Phinisi Boats, take a hike to see the Sulawesi Makak or just relax in a hammock on the beach.
