The Komodo Resort has been built on a 360m stretch of shoreline on Sebayur Island halfway between Labuan Bajo and Komodo Island, and thus offers the perfect location for trips into the National Park whether for diving or seeing the dragons.
There are sixteen bungalows which have been built to perfectly blend in with and enhance the surrounding landscape. The bungalows are made of teak wood that either has been recycled or comes from controlled plantations. They are all just a few meters away from the beach, they guarantee total privacy for the guests, each bungalow is 42 m/sq, and they are very comfortable, give a large living space and come with double or twin beds, all have hot water, a fan, electric power and a safe and a large veranda which allows for great views. They can be used either as standard, without A/C or as deluxe bungalows, with A/C and a mini bar. Traditional massage is also available on request in the room at an additional charge.
Being owned and run by Italians the food is a very important part of the set up and you will experience unforgettable meals that are a mix of Italian traditional cuisine, and Indonesian gourmet dishes created by the Italian and Indonesian chefs, homemade pasta, and freshly baked bread are served daily. Most of the vegetables are produced on the island and the fish is caught daily by the local community of fishermen. A good selection of wines is always available to complement your meal. Snacks are available, a la carte. While lunch and dinner, are chosen from two different menus.
The bar is located on the first floor of the resort with spectacular views, there is a small but good selection of spirits and wines and together with the Wi-Fi hot-spot makes this the perfect place to relax after the day of diving, snorkelling and trekking.
They operate two purpose built wooden dive boats, 13 and 15.5m long, with a cruising speed of 9 knots, which can accommodate twenty five divers in total, to easily and quickly get you to the best dive spots in the park. They have brand new Mares equipment and one hundred aluminium 12lt tanks. Their trips start at 8.30am and they dive the sites of the North Komodo: Sebayur, Castle and Crystal Rock, The Cauldron, Golden Passage, Batu Bolong, Manta Point, Tatawa Besar and Kecil, Pulau Tenggah, as well as local sites, most trips are ten minutes to one and a half hours away, there is always complimentary tea and coffee, cookies and fruit. Night dives and extra day dives can be requested for an extra charge. Water skiing and kayaking are also available at an extra charge.
Transfers from Labuan Bajo are complementary with the accommodation package.
