Located in the southern Raja Ampat Archipelago, on the private island of Batbitim, enclosed by white sandy beaches and an island lagoon and surrounded by abundant reefs, and all of this only about Four hours away by speedboat from Sorong. The resort operates seven and twelve night pre-scheduled departure dates from mid-September to early June and is closed during the rainy season.

Misool Eco Resort Description

Misool Eco Resort has deep commitment to a policy of environmental and social responsibility. In 2005, with the local village, Misool Eco Resort made an agreement to protect an area to 400+ sq km of sea surrounding Batbitim Island, then in 2010, the concession area was increased to include the island of Daram. In this concession area there is a No-Take Zone, inside this No-Take Zone, fishing, cyanide fishing, bombing, shark finning, harvesting of turtle eggs and shellfish are strictly prohibited.

Misool Eco Resort features eight pastoral luxurious Water Cottages which are located in the North Lagoon, the Water Cottages are built on stilts over the water. The view from your veranda, with built in hammock, is framed by a traditional grass roof, offering a high degree of privacy as well as shade. Stairs lead down from the veranda to the North Lagoon, where the House Reef awaits you. Each Cottage is equipped with air conditioning, comfortable bed, mini bar, and Balinese style bathroom.

The four deluxe villas offer more space, luxury and seclusion:

Villa Utara, is also built on stilts on the western edge of the North Lagoon, and overlooks the House Reef and the spectacular dive sites of Fiabacet beyond. This Villa features two en-suite bedrooms, a shared common area with a half bath, a loft, and a massive veranda. This Villa is best suited for four to six guests, ideal for families or groups of friends.

Villa Kalanme is located on the secluded South Beach. This Villa, named after one of the island’s most important spirits, is a complex of three separate en suite bedroom units, with a shared round-roofed living area and huge outdoor living space. This Villa is particularly well-suited to those who enjoy greater privacy and gorgeous white-sand beaches. Access to this Villa is either by water taxi (on call and reachable by radio), or by a scenic but steep paved path.

Villa Santai and Villa Tenang, the newest Villas, are located at the far end of the South Beach. Two stunning en suite bedroom units are built under the shady coconut palms, with expansive views over the Southern horizon from the huge terraces. Access to Villa Santai and Villa Tenang is either by water taxi (on call and reachable by radio), or by a scenic but steep paved path.

Villa Tabisasu is located on the eastern edge of the North Lagoon. This Villa, named after the local word for ‘orchid,’ features an en-suite bedroom and conjoining living area. The outdoor living-area face east and enjoys glorious sunrise views, all your own. Villa Tabisasu has steps leading into the water, located at the back of the Villa along the walkway. This Villa is perfect for couples who appreciate a bit more space.

The restaurant is located on the north beach. This beach-front restaurant provides exceptionally tasty, nutritious, and whenever possible, organic fare from local sources and also some international delicacies. It serves Asian and Western food with an emphasis on fresh, local and organic food, much now grown on the resort itself, you can take a tour of the orchard.  There are four meals a day, and afternoon tea, and has a range of wines to compliment your meal, it is also the perfect place to have sunset drinks after a hard days diving, or doing nothing at all.

The spa offers a range of treatments from traditional massage to Aloe Vera rejuvenation, and feature the resorts own signature range of natural products produced fresh every day.

The dive centre is built on stilts over the water, in the North Bay area. The Dive Centre is spacious and airy, with dedicated wet and dry areas to suit professional videographers, photographers, and recreational divers alike. They typically offer three dives a day, plus a night dive. There is easy access to the house reef and the chance to see the walking Epaulette Shark. Other nearby dives sites include a Manta cleaning station, Mobula Rays hunting anchovies and an abundance of pelagics found exploring the 20 world class dive sites all within a ten minute boat ride from the resort. Free nitrox is available to nitrox certified divers.
