The only dive resort in central Sulawesi, Prince John Dive Resort is located 70km south of the equator in the driest part of Indonesia, in the Bay of Palu in Central Sulawesi, on a headland about 40 kilometres from Palu and close to the port city of Donggala, in the sleepy fishing village of Tanjung Karang. Built on the cliffs, there are beautiful stilt bungalows offering a wonderful view of the stunning, private white sand beach, the turquoise colour of water and the surrounding environment. The Prince John Dive Resort enjoys all year round sunshine and is the ideal escape for nature lovers who enjoy lush green surrounds, great scuba diving, palm trees lined along white isolated sandy beaches and the simplicity of hanging in a hammock for an afternoons rest, peace and silence, and some of the best reefs in Sulawesi, offering macro critters and sweeping drift dives.

Prince John Resort Description

Prince John Dive Resort’s fifteen picturesque bungalows providing comfortable accommodation of three different categories there are the Classic Bungalows, Relax and Deluxe Bungalows, and also a Family Bungalow, which is two adjoined Classics. Each bungalow includes double or twin beds, fan, mosquito nets, and a European toilet. The Classic Relax Bungalows are wooden and on stilts and have a mandi, the deluxe are of stone construction and offer a western shower.

The Prince Classic Bungalows

Traditional Indonesian bungalows built on stilts. Spacious facilities including double bed, mosquito nets, corner shelves and a closet. Most of the front can be opened towards the veranda: Comfortable, direct access to the Mandi, a traditional Indonesian bath, and a European toilet. They are furnished with hammocks and comfortable Rattan furniture and feature a fantastic view of the turquoise ocean.

The Prince Relax Bungalows

Traditional Indonesian stilt bungalows with a spacious room design in a particularly quiet part of the resort, which includes a double bed, mosquito nets, corner shelves, a closet, and a small table plus additional shelves. An extra bed might be provided on request. Direct access to the stone bath including Mandi (traditional Indonesian bath) and a European toilet. The spacious terrace is embedded into the slope on an elevated level offering an enchanting view of the resort’s reef and the Bay of Palu, and you can relax on the comfortable bamboo furniture (suite including table) and hammocks, while enjoying the view.

The Prince Comfort Bungalows

Newly built, charming stone bungalows including spacious interior plus additional practical highlights: They are equipped with a double bed, mosquito nets, a closet, shelves and a ceiling fan. Furthermore, an extra work table for photographers as well as an extra bed may be provided on request. Direct access to the stone bath including Mandi (traditional Indonesian bath) and a European toilet. The spacious terrace includes a comfortable suite, hammocks, and a fantastic ocean view

The Prince Family Bungalow

Perfect spacious family accommodation comprising two bungalows that are connected by a broad corridor. Comfortable facilities with a double bed, mosquito net, corner shelves and a closet each. Comfortable direct access to the stone bath including Mandi (traditional Indonesian bath) and a European toilet.

There is a private beach with sun loungers and parasols, a badminton court, a souvenir shop and a bar with a small selection of cocktails and long drinks are available to guests. In the open restaurant, overlooking the sea, delicious Indonesian cuisine is served. Free wireless Internet access and a safe at reception.

There is a PADI Dive Centre which offers rental equipment, two comfortable boats, for diving in the inner and outer circle, giving a wide range of dive sites. There is also the Gili Raja, this is special dive for qualified & experienced specially trained divers to a 80m long shipwreck at a depth of 50m near Donggala. It has been lying there on its side in crystal clear water for approximately 50 years being beautifully overgrown by soft corals. There, you may see a goliath grouper and a schools of Jack Fish. This dive is only made with a ratio of 1:1.
